Engr. Fatima Faruk Joins Kebbi State in The Fight Against Gender-Based Violence
As part of the ongoing 16 Days of Activism Campaign, the Special Assistant to the President on Women Affairs, Fatima Abubakar-Faruk, joined the First Lady of Kebbi State at an awareness walk and town hall meeting focused on tackling Gender-Based Violence.
In Kebbi, she visited Government Girls Day Secondary School, Tudun Wada, and Government Girls Secondary School, Junju, where she donated school materials and spoke to students about the importance of education. During these visits, she also raised awareness about Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and the importance of personal hygiene as part of the OrangeHope initiative.
Additionally, Fatima Abubakar-Faruk extended her efforts to the Nigerian Correctional Service in Birnin Kebbi as part of the Prison Donation Program, donating hygiene and sanitary products alongside food supplies.
These donations aim to uphold the dignity of incarcerated women and support their well-being.
Through these impactful engagements, the Special Assistant reaffirmed the administrations commitment to empowering women and girls, advancing education, and addressing Gender-Based Violence.
