Engr. Fatima Faruk Concludes North-East Women’s Town Hall Meetings

Following her directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Engr. Fatima Abubakar Faruk, the Special Assistant on Women Affairs, has successfully concluded her town hall meetings in the South-South states of Rivers, Delta, and Uyo. These sessions are part of a nationwide initiative to identify and address the pressing challenges faced by women, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

During these engagements, women expressed their need for grants to support market women and traders, emphasizing the importance of financial empowerment for sustaining their livelihoods. They also highlighted the urgent need for improved education and better schools for their children, alongside the provision of accessible healthcare facilities, particularly near marketplaces.

Another critical issue raised was the soaring prices of foodstuffs, which continue to place significant strain on families and businesses. These concerns will be instrumental in shaping policies and programs aimed at providing targeted interventions and solutions.

Engr. Fatima Faruk reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to listening to the voices of Nigerian women and implementing practical solutions to foster their economic and social well-being. The insights gathered from these meetings are pivotal in driving the government’s efforts to empower women and promote inclusive development.
