On April 21, 2024, the Special Assistant to the President on Women’s Affairs, Engr. Fatima Faruk, and her technical team had a brief meeting with Mr. Ibrahim Sesay, Chief Child Protection, UNICEF. The meeting was a familiarity engagement that marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the Office of the Special Assistant and UNICEF. Both parties look forward to working together to provide long-lasting solutions to issues faced by children and mothers, including but not limited to child abuse, SGBV (sexual and gender-based violence), FGM (female genital mutilation), and more. The Special Assistant also plans to collaborate on the policy implementation for birth certificate registration with NIN (National identification number) among many other prospective projects.
